Great ideas, especially like the complimenting students in the halls rather than correcting them. I can already picture students looking confused and then smiling as they realize they were given something positive. Hopefully you get to do your presentation/training on choice words pans out, good luck!

You had a great thought about complimenting your students in the hallway rather than just scolding them. When I step outside the classroom I inherently look for bad behavior instead of the good. I need to change my thought process, thanks for the tip!

Great reflections!!! It is great to make commitments and then assess them. If you are really interested in getting restorative practices at your school, Dominique Smith is a great resource. He would love to hear from you! [email protected]

Raquel, the format of your poster was great and very easy to follow, as well as creative! I love the fact that you're working on complimenting students in the hallways, as opposed to disciplining. I am sure this is providing students a very welcoming feel as they see you around campus. The assembly idea where teachers are role modeling restorative practices is awesome, and I would really like to see my school attempting something of this nature. The "choice words" poster is another great idea of yours that I would like to adopt for my school and place somewhere with high teacher, student, and parent traffic as a reminder of staff dedication to this pillar. Wonderful job!
