These two planting guides will help me figure out what I want to plant. I know that I don't have to follow the suggestions exactly, especially when waiting for the temperature to be right. Here in San Diego we don't have to wait for the weather to get better as much as the rest of the country does. It looks like I can plant leafy greens. My son wants to plant brussel sprouts, he is almost obsessed. I don't think he knows that he might not like them. |
This weekend I went back to City Farmers Nursery to buy the soil amendments that were recommended. The picture above is not the poop, it is compost. I bought 16 bags of it. The other stuff that you see in the back of my truck is everything I need now to start amending my soil. This answers one of my authentic questions, How much will this cost? All of the amendments came to $132.39 and that is just for preparing my dirt. Now to figure out what to plant. These are just some of the many things that are available at City Farmers Nursery. I do plan on having an herb garden. I would like to create something like this raised herb garden. It looks like fun. Plus I need a plan for all the rocks that I keep finding when I dig anywhere on my property.

Raquel, it looks like you are almost done with the soil. Is there any one helping you to make it ready for planting?
